BETA Overview
๐ Welcome to the BETA Club! ๐
Where bright minds meet big hearts ๐กโค๏ธ
Since 1934, when Dr. John W. Harris lit the spark at Wofford College, the BETA Club has grown into one of the nation’s largest and most cherished educational youth organizations. We’re all about celebrating academic excellence ๐ while nurturing character, leadership, and a spirit of service ๐.
Here, you'll find a welcoming community that’s passionate about learning and making a difference. Whether you're taking the lead on a project, volunteering in your community, or simply cheering on your fellow members, there's a place for you in BETA.
โจ Come grow, lead, and shine with us—because in the BETA Club, every member is a star! ๐

Mission Statement: To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
Achievement-recognizing and honoring high academic achievement (students must maintain a 90 average)
Character-preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful (no discipline referrals)
Leadership-developing the leaders of tomorrow (students are the leaders of this group, teachers are here to help)
Service-demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others (students must accumulate 5 hours of service this school year. This can be done here at church, neighborhood, or any other organization)
Membership dues are dependent upon the division in which students fall. Each division requires a one-time payment which covers the student for the duration of their time in that division. Junior Betas pay $24 which covers all 3 years in middle school.
