The South Effingham Middle School Learning Commons is a hub for knowledge and creativity. We are committed to granting all members of our community access to a world of information and ideas while nurturing an appreciation for literature and the arts. Here, we encourage creative thinking, independence in seeking knowledge, and proficient use of educational technology to empower individuals as lifelong learners and decisive thinkers.

In an ever-evolving educational landscape, our Learning Commons serves as a catalyst for growth. We aim to equip our students, faculty, and staff with the tools they need to excel in an increasingly digital world, fostering a community of empowered learners who are prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Access to the Learning Commons:
Our Learning Commons is designed to cater to the dynamic needs and interests of our students. It operates on a flexible schedule, ensuring that students and small groups can utilize its resources whenever the need or interest arises. Additionally, teachers have the flexibility to arrange class visits to the Learning Commons at different times.

We encourage students to explore the Learning Commons during various points in their day, such as during homeroom, after completing their classwork, or during lunch breaks. To gain entry, students simply need to obtain a pass.

Excitingly, we also offer a Makerspace within the Learning Commons, available for students to use throughout the day. The Makerspace is accessible with a pass and provides numerous benefits for our middle school students. It fosters creativity, hands-on learning, and problem-solving skills, making it an invaluable resource for our students' educational journey
